CERAMIC GLAZES ANALYSIS |
GRAIN SIZE DISTRIBUTION |
The analysis, carried out with the Malvern instrument, is very useful to define the distribution of particle size for raw materials or suspensions.

THERMAL ANALYSIS
With the heating microscope we can define the characteristic temperatures of glazes (sintering, sosfeting, sphere, half sphere, melting point)
THERMAL EXPANSION TEST (heating 5 °C/min) |
The dilatometer provides the percentage of thermal expansion and the dilatometric coefficient of ceramic materials during the firing phase . It is very interesting in valuating the matching between glaze and body.
COLORIMETRIC TEST |
This test is used to define, on a fired glaze, the ΔL value (brightness), the Δa value (if , compared to a target, the glaze is more similar to red or green),the Δb value (if the glaze is more similar to blue or yellow).
